Unmatched Industry
Insight & Relationships.
A Track Record Second to None.
Retail & Consumer Investment Banking, at its highest level, takes a lot more than a knowledge of finance and financial statements. It requires an in-depth understanding of the complex world of brands, products, real estate and management, personally knowing the key and emerging players on a global playing field, being a step ahead of trends, and having the vision and passion to forge an industry’s future.
Since 1971, Financo has been committed solely to the Retail & Consumer sectors. In this time, we have completed more transactions in the sector than any other investment bank or advisory firm. We’ve cultivated an invaluable network of relationships and we’ve built a successful roster of clients that seek our services, again and again.
Many of our bankers have tenure in the industry as operators as well as advisors, holding senior executive positions in retail and consumer companies. Our highly focused specialization allows us to provide insights that would be missed by a traditional investment bank and to create greater value for our clients. And because we are a boutique firm, we have the agility to adapt quickly to the needs, style, and goals of each individual client.
Financo was founded by Gilbert Harrison in 1971. Since selling the firm to Lehman Brothers/American Express in 1985 and buying it back in 1989, Financo has built a reputation for providing independent, unbiased and client-focused service. Today, with the addition of President & CEO, Colin Welch, who recently joined Financo from Credit Suisse in London, Financo’s financial expertise and global footprint has never been stronger.
Each January, during the National Retail Federation’s Annual Convention & Expo, three hundred internationally-known executives join us in New York City for Financo’s CEO seminar and networking event. This is one of the most well-attended events in the industry, and is just one example of Financo’s prominent role as a leading investment bank in the retail and consumer sectors.
