Financo was engaged as financial advisor to the majority shareholders of Demoulas Supermarkets, Inc. in connection with the sale of its majority equity stake. Demoulas Supermarkets Inc. is the parent company of Market Basket, a supermarket chain based in Tewksbury, Massachusetts with approximately 73 stores in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. The $1.6 billion transaction resulted in the complete sale of the 50.5% stake held by the majority shareholders.
